ONLY ON CVP: A driver told police he fell asleep behind the wheel before his car struck a utility pole on Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights this morning, tying up traffic on both sides.
He got out of the car under his own steam and was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center by the Moonachie First Aid & Rescue Squad following the 6:15 a.m. crash on the highway’s southbound side.
