YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A 49-year-old Jamaican national from Teaneck raped, sodomized and molested a then-14-year-old Englewood girl over a four-month period five years ago, according to an indictment returned yesterday.
Authorities originally said Kevin Wright sexually assaulted the girl several times when they announced his July 30 arrest last summer.
The indictment handed up yesterday in Hackensack outlines a series of alleged acts between March and July 2009 that include intercourse, giving and getting oral sex, masturbation, digital penetration and touching the girl’s breasts and vagina.
It also charges him with impairing the morals of a minor.
Wright was was arrested after the alleged victim – who’d turned 19 – told her mother, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said last August.
The mother called Englewood police and their detectives and members of the prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit interviewed the woman before making the arrest, he said.
“During that interview, the victim provided specific details describing how she was sexually assaulted on several occasions by [Wright], who was a close friend of a relative of the victim,” the prosecutor said.
Wright, who is single, was being held on $125,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, reduced from $200,000.
