YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A 40-year-old Lodi man was drunk when his car hit two parked vehicles last night near the St. Francis De Sales Church, police told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

Salvatore Randazzo was released to a friend under John’s Law after police issued him summonses for DWI, refusing to take a breath test and careless driving, Detective Capt. Donald Scorzetti said.

An officer who responded to the incident on Union Street near Prosepct Street detected alcohol on Randazzo’s breath, then took him into custody after he failed a field sobriety test, Scorzetti said.

Randazzo refused medical attention after complaining of a chest injury, the captain said.

All three vehicles were towed.
