YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Elmwood Park police made a pair of heroin arrests hours apart yesterday.
Officers charged Carl Walters, 24, with having 10 bags of the drug, along with a syringe and paraphernalia after taking him into custody in the Kmart parking lot on Broadway around 3:40 p.m., Police Chief Michael Foligno said.
They also charged him with hindering for providing false information to a law enforcement officer, Foligno said.
Around 8 p.m., they arrested 36-year-old Eric Hoffman of Nanuet on Locust Street after the chief said they caught him with 60 bags of heroin.
Both were released on court summonses.
