A Guatemalan contractor who stalked a Leonia woman by phoning and texting her 20 to 30 times per day for nearly five years will serve a short jail term and then be deported back to Central America — for the second time in 15 years.
Julio Godinez, 42, was one of several workers who renovated the woman’s home after she bought in in 2009, authorities said.
He got her cell number after she gave him some furniture from her deceased uncle’s house and then began calling her from pre-paid, untraceable phones, the victim said.
Godinez would “call at 8 in the morning before work, at lunch time,” she told Daily Voice after Friday’s sentencing. “Then at night it would get really bad.” READ MORE….
