A 29-year-old driver died moments after being cut from his car, while his passenger walked away injured, in an apparent hydroplaning crash into a utility pole on New Bridge Road in Teaneck overnight, emergency workers said this afternoon.
A source said the pair apparently had been at Applebee’s in Hackensack and just crossed the Teaneck border when the carh went airborne and slammed into the telephone pole near River Road just after 1 a.m.
Teaneck police and firefighters responded.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Fatal Accident Unit was investigating.
