YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: What began as juveniles knocking over mailboxes led Wyckoff police to an overnight house party where they said 40 or so underage teens played beer pong, drank alcohol and smoked pot with the consent of the 49-year-old homeowner.

Several ran from officers who found some in the Willow Run neighborhood “in various states of intoxication” just before 1:30 a.m. Monday, Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox said.

Lt. Charles Van Dyk, Sgt. Daniel Kellogg and Officer Ryan Noon found several mailboxes and a street sign damaged after the initial call came in, then grabbed four fleeing juveniles — 16 and 17 years old — in a nearby backyard, the chief said.

That led them to the party, which Fox said homeowner Lorraine J. Chazulle allowed her 17-year-old son to have.

Chazulle was charged with allowing juveniles to consume alcoholic beverages. She was released pending a Municipal Court hearing, the chief said.
